Note: All functions accessible from the tool bar icons are also accessible from the menu bar.

Open – To open any image saved on your system that is in one of the seven supported graphic formats, click the Open icon.

Save As – To save an image, click the Disk icon.

Print – To print an image, select it and click the Printer icon.

Cut – To cut out an area that you selected with the Select tool (see below), click the Scissors icon. The area you cut is sent to the Clipboard so that you can paste it as a new image in the Image Editor or into another Windows application.

Copy – To copy to the Clipboard an image or an area of an image that has been selected with the Select tool, click the Copy icon.

Paste – To paste a new image into the Image Editor that you previously cut or copied to the Clipboard, click the Paste icon. This will replace any image displayed in the Image Editor with the new image.

MS Paste – To paste an image into an MS Word document, click the MS Paste icon. To past an image into an MS PowerPoint slide, right click on the MS Paste icon and click PowerPoint in the drop-down menu.

Undo – To undo the last change you made to an image, click the Undo icon. The Image Editor supports five levels of undo.

Select – The Select tool allows you to select an area of an image for the purpose of cropping, cutting or copying the image. To select an area, click the Select icon. Your mouse cursor will transform into a cross-hair. Position the cross-hair on any area of the image and then click and hold down the left mouse button. Drag the cross-hair diagonally to draw a frame and then release the left mouse button to complete your selection. The selected area will be outlined. To unselect a selected area, click the left mouse button outside of the image (anywhere in the editor’s gray area).

Crop – To crop an area that you selected with the Select tool, click the Crop icon.

Grayscale – To convert a color image to shades of gray, click the Grayscale icon.

Flip Vertical – To vertically flip an image, click the Flip Vertical icon.

Flip Horizontal – To horizontally flip an image, click the Flip Horizontal icon.

Image Information – To display information about an image (width, height and bits per pixel), click the Image Information icon.

Brightness – To adjust the brightness of an image, click the Brightness icon to open the Brightness window. Slide the Adjustment bar left or right to increase or decrease brightness and then click Keep or Discard.

Contrast – To adjust the contrast of an image, click the Contrast icon to open the Contrast window. Slide the Adjustment bar left or right to increase or decrease contrast and then click Keep or Discard.

Invert – To invert (reverse) an image's colors, click the Invert icon.
