Which capture
method do I select to print or capture a DOS screen?
DOS applications run either in a window or in "Full-screen" mode.
In order to select the correct capture method in ScreenPrint,
you must know whether your DOS application runs in a window or in Full-screen
mode.
DOS Windows
A DOS Window has a title bar on top and is like any other window that can
be minimized and maximized. If your DOS application runs in a window, do
not select any of the "Full DOS Screen" capture methods.
Full-screen Mode
A Full DOS Screen has no title bar, it covers the entire display and therefore
it cannot be minimized or maximized. If your DOS application runs in Full-screen
mode, select one of the three DOS capturing methods [Click
here to see].
ScreenPrint Platinum includes three methods for printing
and capturing DOS screens:
Full DOS Screen: Text as Graphic
Select this method if you are running a DOS
text application in Full-Screen mode and you want to print and/or capture
the displayed text as a graphic image.
Full DOS Screen: Graphics Only
Select this method if you are running a DOS
graphic application (e.g., a game) in Full-screen mode and you want
to print and/or capture the image.
Full DOS Screen: Text as Text File
Select this method if you are running a DOS
text application in Full-Screen mode and you want to save the displayed
text to a text file that you can later edit in a text editor or word processor.
No file or image will be displayed in ScreenPrint's Main Window after you
capture the screen.
When you select the Text as Text file capture method, a dialog box will open
so you can select the folder in which you wish to save the captured text file
[Click
here to see]. The
text file will be saved in your selected folder with the file name "DOStext1.txt."
Any screen captures that are subseqently saved in this manner to the same
folder will be named automatically with the ending number incremented by one
for each saved file (e.g., DOStext2.txt, DOStext3.txt, etc.).
How
do I print or capture my DOS screen?
After selecting the correct capture method, switch to your DOS screen.
Press the Print Screen key,
which is located on the right-hand side top row of your keyboard.
The key is labeled "Print Screen"
or "Prtsc."
Tap it once to print and/or capture

You can
